Bol Bol Gets First Ever NBA Start

 

In a notable lineup adjustment, the Phoenix Suns elevated Bol Bol to the starting power forward position against the Memphis Grizzlies thid  This marked Bol's inaugural start in his 60th appearance for the Suns.

Bol made an immediate impact, contributing a block, an assist, and a three-pointer within the first 70 seconds of play. He concluded his initial nine-minute stint with seven points and six rebounds. By the end of the game, Bol had amassed 18 points, four blocks, and a game-high 14 rebounds, despite the team's 119-112 loss.

This performance followed two consecutive games where Bol scored 19 and 12 points, respectively, marking his first double-digit scoring outings of the season. Over these two games, he logged more than 55 minutes on the court, a significant increase from the 85 minutes he had played over the previous 14 games combined. Additionally, he recorded 10 rebounds and seven blocks during this period.

Standing at 7-foot-2, Bol joined center Nick Richards and forward Kevin Durant in the starting lineup, creating a formidable frontcourt to counter the Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey. Head coach Mike Budenholzer acknowledged the challenge posed by Jackson, noting his development into a versatile offensive threat.
