‘Carry-On’ Is on Track for Netflix’s All-Time Top 10
It appears that one of Netflix's final original film releases of 2024 will rank among its largest, not only for the year.
According to Netflix's internal rankings, the thriller Carry-On, which stars Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, and Sofia Carson, has amassed a sizable viewership within its first ten days of release. The film has had 97.1 million views globally since its December 13 debut (calculated by dividing the total number of viewing hours by the film's two-hour duration). In both weeks since its debut, it has been the top-ranked English-language film on Netflix's rankings (this week's numbers will be made public on December 31).
Carry-On, which was written by T.J. Fixman and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise), centers on a TSA agent (Egerton) who is being blackmailed into allowing a suitcase containing a lethal nerve toxin to board a plane. Bateman is the mercenary who is planning the plan.
With 97.1 million views in only 10 days, Carry-On is poised to become one of Netflix's top 10 English-language original films over the coming weeks. With 136.3 million views, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is now ranked 10th; Carry-On is already more than 70% of the way there. Views during a film or television show's first ninety-one days of release are included in Netflix's all-time top ten lists.
Netflix’s top-performing original movie to date is Red Notice with 230.9 million views over 91 days.
