On Wednesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks won 4-2 at Chase Field to seal their shocking series triumph against the Los Angeles Dodgers. With four runs scored in the third inning of Game 3, Arizona completed the 100-win Dodgers' 3-0 triumph in record-breaking manner.

The Diamondbacks became the first team in playoff history to blast four home runs in one inning when Geraldo Perdomo, Ketel Marte, Christian Walker, and Gabriel Moreno all launched solo shots in the third inning.

Although the Dodgers did manage two runs in the eighth inning to give it a more suspenseful ending, Arizona held on for a storied triumph.

Arizona will play in the NLCS for the first time since 2007 thanks to the decisive series victory. The World Series is now just one series win away for the club.

For a berth in the "Fall Classic," it will compete against either the Philadelphia Phillies or the Atlanta Braves.

After successive sweeps of the Milwaukee Brewers and now the Dodgers, the victory also means that the Diamondbacks have yet to lose in the postseason.

Since the club won the World Series in 2001, this is the first time they have won multiple postseason series in a calendar year.

It is a dismal finale to what was a successful regular season for the Dodgers.

A major title challenge was anticipated with 100 victories under their belts and two of MLB's greatest players on the club in Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

However, the Dodgers must start again after suffering a sweep loss to the Diamondbacks.
