DreamWorks Animation has officially announced that "Shrek 5" is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2026. The beloved franchise returns with original voice actors Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Princess Fiona), and Eddie Murphy (Donkey) reprising their iconic roles. Joining the ensemble is Zendaya, who will voice Felicia, the daughter of Shrek and Fiona.
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer showcasing updated character designs and offering a glimpse into the film's new animation style. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the inclusion of Felicia suggests a focus on the next generation in the enchanted realm of Far Far Away.
Directors Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon, both veterans of the "Shrek" series, helm this installment, with Gina Shay and Chris Meledandri producing. The film's release will mark 25 years since the original "Shrek" captivated audiences worldwide.
