Overnight, Oklahoma City Thunder player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander revealed his future Converse signature logo near his birthplace in Toronto, Canada. Starting at midnight, his new logo was projected onto the enormous curving digital board of the Eaton Centre, the biggest shopping center in the area and only 90 minutes from Hamilton, where he was raised.
The logo, which is a mirrored "2" mark, is based on drawings and sketches that Gilgeous-Alexander made himself.
Throughout his career, "SGA" has worn the jersey number. Prior to being a franchise player in Oklahoma City wearing No. 2, he wore No. 22 at Kentucky when the number was taken. Additionally, his childhood pals frequently refer to him as "Two."
He also shares that the logo represents many aspects of his life as it digs deeper into the narrative behind the characteristic symbol.
Gilgeous-Alexander is already considering options for making personalized jewelry for himself that has the mirrored emblem, and it will be integrated into his iconic sneakers and clothing when they launch in 2025. It is a number that symbolizes not just his court dress but also the subtleties of his character and life narrative.
Gilgeous-Alexander first signed with the company in 2020, but recently this spring, he re-signed a new, long-term contract with Converse. Since joining the team, his reputation has grown every year, both on and off the court. The Thunder point guard was selected as a starter in the 2024 All-Star Game, marking the team's ascent to contender status.
SGA's influence on the court and in the fashion industry are demonstrated by the fact that he was the only player in history to be named to both the All-NBA first team and the All-League Fits first team in the same year. This partnership will continue to keep at the top and show him as one of the most innovative and creative minds in the NBA.
