Stefon Diggs Signs with New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have made a significant addition to their offense by signing veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract, which includes $26 million guaranteed.

Diggs, 31, suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Week 8 of the 2024 season while playing for the Houston Texans. Despite this setback, he is on track to return for Week 1 of the upcoming season.

Prior to his injury, Diggs had a productive stint with the Texans, recording 47 receptions for 496 yards and four touchdowns in eight games. His career includes six consecutive seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, showcasing his consistent performance as a top-tier receiver.

The Patriots' acquisition of Diggs aligns with their efforts to bolster their receiving corps and provide a reliable target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye. Diggs' experience and skill set are expected to complement existing receivers Kendrick Bourne and Mack Hollins, potentially enhancing the team's offensive dynamics.

This move reflects New England's commitment to strengthening their roster as they aim to return to playoff contention in the upcoming NFL season.
